  • SURGERY

Surgery is performed at our hospital many times daily.  Procedures are varied and range from spay and neuter procedures to abscess, laceration repair or lump removal. Other procedures include foreign body removal (i.e. retrieve a sock from a dog's intestine),  bladder stone removal and orthopedic surgery such as bone fracture  or cruciate ligament (ACL) repair.

Surgeries are performed under sterile conditions using cap, gown and mask.  Technicans monitor our patients through the use of ECGs, blood pressure  and blood oxygen monitors. The safest anesthetic gases (isoflurane & sevoflurane) known to veterinary medicine are used at our hospital. Every precaution is taken to insure the safety of all patients undergoing a surgical procedure.

  • DENTAL CARE

Regular professional dental cleaning helps to maintain your pet's teeth in good health.  It also helps maintain overall pet health as tartared, infected teeth are a source of bacteria that may cause infections elsewhere in the body.  During a dental procedure each tooth is carefully cleaned and polished.

  • COMMUNITY SERVICE

Stoney Creek Animal Hospital participates in community service in a variety of ways.
    • We have been strong supporters of the Carolina Raptor Center since 1987 (beginning at our former hospital, Newell Hickory) by providing free medical and surgical services to injured birds of prey in the hopes of helping the CRC return these birds to their natural environment.
    • We budget several thousand dollars per year to operate an adoption center within our hospital  for stray and orphaned  kittens.  Through our adoption program, we have placed over 100 kittens in homes annually.
    • We provide services to Lincoln County Humane Society and Friends of Feral Felines; vaccinating and spaying & neutering cats.
